The Tema Metropolitan Football Association (TMFA), will on Saturday November 23, hold a special one-day football tournament for girls to usher in the 2024/25 season.
This girl’s festival, will feature teams drawn from the Tema metropolitan area to compete for amazing prizes.
The festival will be held at the Tema Sports Stadium and, is expected to have up to six teams participating.
After this tournament, the stage will be set for the start of the new season according to the programme drawn by the TMFA.
Daasebre Adu-Asare, chairman of the TMFA, confirmed this during the metropolitan congress held in Tema last weekend.
The 2024/25 campaign will start with the TMFA Division Three league on the weekend of November 29 – 30, 2024.
It is expected that 30 clubs will partake in the competition which leads to promotion to the Greater Accra Second Division League.
The 30 clubs, have been housed in three groups of 10 teams each (Western, Eastern and Central Zones), and they will compete in their respective zones.
The season will be an 18-week contest with the top two teams in each zone qualifying to the middle league competition that leads to promotion to the regional Second Division League.
