Asanska FC have been crowned champions of the maiden edition of the Greater Accra Regional (GARFA), Division Three Super Cup Championship.
The competition was organized for qualified Division Three clubs to Division Two from the 12 administrative districts in the region.
Asanska FC of the Ga East DFA, beat Accra East DFA’s representative Sambo 4 FC 1-0 in the grand finale played on Sunday at the Teshie Sports Complex.
The maiden edition of the GARFA Division Three Super Cup, featured all clubs that qualified from the 12 districts in the region.
They were divided into four zones with each zone consisting of three teams who engaged in a mini league contest with the winners advancing to the semi final stage.
In Zone One, were Ada Kings, Record Breakers and Ashaiman. Zone Two, had Tema Faith, Sambo4 Utd FC and Adabraka Elders, Zone Three had Morjisco FC, Ultimate FC and Papase Victory FC with Asanska FC, Player Link FC and Mendez FC in Zone Four.
Asanska FC, topped Zone Four to advance to the last four where they faced Ultimate FC who topped Zone Three.
The Oyibi-based side, were victors in that encounter to advance to the grand finale where they accounted for Sambo 4 United FC.
This pre-season tournament, was to prepare the teams for the upcoming Division Two league in the region which starts next month.
Asanska FC, will look to build on this performance going forward as they compete in the upcoming league where they will seek qualification to the national Division One League next season.
