Vice President of the Republic Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has commissioned the $5m McDan Teshie Sports Complex in Accra.
The ceremony, was held last Saturday an occasion that attracted people from all walks of life.
Construction of this facility, began in September 2020 with an Astro Turf which is of FIFA standard and can be used for international matches.
Dr Bawumia, was supported by chairman of McDan Group of Companies, Daniel McKorley who financed the multi-purpose sports facility at Teshie.
The initiator of the project Dr Bernard Oko-Boye, a former MP of Teshie and the current CEO of the National Health Insurance Authority, was also present.
Dr. Bawumia, welcomed the idea of putting up this facility for the people of Teshie, and thanked all who initiated this.
Mr McKorley said the project was one of the biggest initiatives of the McDan Foundation, and was proud to be part of a brand which works tirelessly to make a positive difference in society.
The Teshie Sports Complex, was contracted by the Wembley Sports Construction, and it’s expected to boost sporting activities in and around Teshie.
The facility includes an astroturf football field, perimeter fencing, spectator stands, floodlights, changing rooms and public washrooms.
The project, also received support from the Ledzokuku Municipal Assembly and the Teshie Sports Development Council.
