Nana Tuffour Okai, also known as B boy Lyricx, lauds the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the 13th African Games, acknowledging their relentless efforts in orchestrating what promises to be an unparalleled sports extravaganza in Africa.
During a meeting with LOC Executive Chairman Dr. Kwaku Ofosu-Asare, President Okai extolled the Committee’s dedication, specifically highlighting the commitment of the Chairman and key personnel.
Emphasizing the soaring popularity of sports, particularly Breaking among the youth, President Okai pledged support for showcasing Breaking, expressing eagerness to organize demonstrations, especially at the Basketball matches during the Games.
While welcoming the Breaking Federation’s involvement, Dr. Kwaku Ofosu-Asare admonished them for their delayed engagement in the preparations. He urged potential sponsors and supporters to join in, indicating that there is still an opportunity to contribute to the success of the Games despite the late stage.
Accompanying President Lyricx were Maxwell, the Projects Manager, and B Girl Trix Naomi from the Afro Break Academy.
It’s noteworthy that Breaking is among the new sports slated for competition at the forthcoming 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
