Medeama Sporting Club, the current Ghanaian champions, has signed a “cooperation agreement” with Al Nasr Sports Club, an Emirati football club. This partnership marks the first formal relationship between a Ghanaian and Emirati club in recent history. The primary goal of the agreement is to strengthen international ties and create more global opportunities for both parties.
Key aspects of the agreement include technical and sports cooperation, knowledge sharing, capacity building for administrators, sponsorship opportunities, and exchange programs for technical staff and experts in football management. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Medeama president Moses Armah and Al Nasr chairman Abdulla Bin Touq, with senior officials from both clubs as witnesses.
As part of the collaboration, Medeama hosted a one-day training camp at the Al Nasr facility on February 28, 2024. This training camp was conducted before Medeama’s departure to Algeria for the final CAF Champions League group stage match against CR Belouizdad.
This partnership signifies a new chapter for Medeama Sporting Club as they continue to seek opportunities for growth and development on an international scale.
