Ghanaian pugilist Bastie Samir is targeting a knock out win on Saturday as he faces Nigerian Abdul Rahman Idowu for the title.
Samir, 22: 20-1-1, said he respects his opponent, but will put in a performance that will guarantee him the strap.
This bout, is top of the bill being put together by Wisdom Boxing Promotions, and would be staged at the Decathlon Kawukudi in Accra.
Samir, said he has prepared very well for this bout as he looks forward to achieving an aim of becoming a world champion.
At Friday’s weigh-in and presser, he promised an early knock out to advance his ambitions.
Idowu, 7: 5-1-1, is a relatively inexperienced boxer, but said, he is ready for this battle, and will put up a performance to savour.
Also on the bill on Saturday, is the vacant national Cruiserweight strap to be fought for between Haruna Mohammed and George Amuzu.
Mohammed, is the strong favourite to win the title against the journeyman Amuzu.
There will be other supporting bouts on Saturday night, including the fight between Ghana’s Nana Adjei Clinton and Fioklou Dogbevi of Togo in a heavyweight contest.
The promoter for this event, is Coach Ofori Asare who coaches the national boxing team.
