Ghana’s Faisal Abubakar will make the first defence of his WBO Africa title on August 31, 2024 at the Bukom Boxing Arena, Accra.
Abubakar, 16-0, 13KOs, will face Nigeria’s Samuel “Block Buster” Opaogun in the Ghanaian capital as he seeks to maintain his unbeaten fight record in the ring.
The Ghanaian pugilist, defeated Latibu Muwonge of Uganda over 12 rounds in March this year to claim the vacant title in Accra.
He is one of Ghana’s promising boxers, and has been tipped for greatness going forward with a world title in mind.
Abubakar, will look to make a successful defence of his title later this month against Samuel Opaogun, (11-2-1), as he aims to maintain focus on his world title ambition.
The Ghanaian, has been in intensive training ahead of this title defence, and is confident of retaining his strap on fight night.
Abubakar, will be the odds-on favourite to win this bout against his lesser known Nigerian opponent who has a lot to prove coming into this encounter after drawing his last bout.
He fights under Priceless Life Entertainment Promotions whose CEO is Edwin Elikem Amenyeawu, and who has laid his path to success thus far.
Mr Amenyeawu, has promised to work tirelessly to get their boxer to the very top of the sport, and that adventure they hope will continue on Saturday, August 31 at the home of Ghana boxing.
