Ghana Super Lightweight boxing champion Faisal Abubakar faces Latibu Muwonge of Uganda for the vacant WBO strap this Saturday in Accra in what is expected to be a grueling contest.
The bout will be staged at the Lord’s Wembley, Shukura, Accra, with the promoters expecting a huge turn on their maiden boxing promotion.
Both boxers are poised for the action as they said at Thursday’s press launch at the venue, on a night that promises to be full of fun and excitement with other supporting bouts to go with.
Promoters for this mega event are Priceless Life Entertainment whose CEO is Edwin Elikem Amenyeawu, and, he has promised a super show on Saturday as they stage their maiden boxing promotion in Ghana.
Priceless Life Entertainment, are aiming to stage a world class event, hoping to give boxing fans a lot to cheer about in the Ghanaian capital, and they are expecting a crowd of around 3,000 fans to watch this promotion.
Faisal Abubakari (15-0-13kos), fights out of the Charles Quartey Boxing Foundation Gym in Accra, and is positive about his chances on Saturday night.
“I am fully prepared for this battle, and always ready to face bigger opponents, so, Muwonge, won’t be a stabling block in my ambition to go higher in boxing.
Muwonge, is also undefeated from Uganda, holding a fight record of 8-0-0, and he is also the African Boxing Union champion in this division.
” I have been waiting for this chance for a long time and I want to face the best, beat them and became a credible champion,” Abubakar said.
Latibu Muwonge on his part, stated, “I have prepared very well for this fight, and I came here to take the title to Uganda.”
