Medeama officials paid a working visit to the Vice chancellor of the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), Prof Richard Amankwah, on Tuesday August 1, 2023 to present the Ghana Premier League trophy to the university don and top officials.
The exciting scenes took place at the University’s Council Chamber in Tarkwa.
The visit is in line with the club’s trophy presentation outlines to all major stakeholders of the Mauve and Yellows.
UMaT boss Prof Amankwah eulogized the club for the outstanding joy and pride brought to the people of Tarkwa and the Western region.
He expressed satisfaction on the cordial relationship that exist between the two brands in hope for many years of positive collaborations.
While showering praises on the President, Moses Armah and team, the University don was full of praise for the Head Coach, Evans Adotey, who led the team to the Premier League crown – ending a staggering 47 years Western Region drought.
The Vice Chancellor and his lieutenants pledged their support for the team in the season ahead and Champions League campaign but wished the New TNA Stadium was ready for competition.
UMaT’s Sport Center has over the last two seasons served as one of the training grounds for the Ghana’s flagbearer for the 2023 CAF Champions League, with Medeama giving back to the university in equipments such as: jerseys, balls, soccer nets, etc.
