Three club’s, Young Apostles FC, Basake Holy Stars and Vision FC, will make their debut in the Ghana Premier League (GPL), as the 2024/25 top-flight league begins this weekend.
The three clubs secured promotion to the Ghanaian top-flight at the end of last season from the national Division One League Zones One, Two and Three respectively.
As the new season starts this weekend, Young Apostles will be away to Nsoatreman FC at the Nana Kronamansah Park, Nsoatre on Sunday, aiming to begin the campaign on a high.
Holy Stars, trek to the capital to play mighty Accra Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium also on Sunday, with the hope of pulling a fast one on the Phobians.
Vision FC will welcome Berekum Chelsea to the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Stadium, Tema in one of two matches to be played on Saturday.
Also on Saturday, defending champions FC Samartex 1996, will visit the capital to play Dreams FC at the Accra Sports Stadium.
On Sunday, Asante Kotoko will be on the road for their first game of the season against Karela United at the Naa Sheriga Sports Centre, Nalerigu.
Aduana Stars will welcome Heart of Lions to the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park, Dormaa-Ahenkro.
Gold Stars will host Legon Cities at the Dun’s Park, Bibiani in what should be an interesting fixture for fans that will turn up at the venue.
Medeama SC will play their first competitive match at the newly built TNA Stadium, Tarkwa as they welcome Accra Lions to the mining township.
Bechem United will visit the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex, Abrankese-Kumasi to face the might of Nations FC also on Sunday.
