Legon Cities will engage Accra Lions in a fierce capital derby on Friday night as the Ghana Premier League (GPL), continues this weekend.
This Matchday Eight fixture, will be played at the University of Ghana (UG), Stadium, Legon in Accra with eight other matches to be played across board.
The two capital city clubs, have had the going difficult since the start of the 2024/25 campaign with just one win between them in the league so far.
Legon Cities, will be looking for their first win of the season on Friday night, having picked just one point from the six matches they have played.
The Citizens, have lost five times, and sit bottom of the table in the 18-club contest going into this weekend’s round of matches.
A win in this evening’s game, will take them to four points from seven matches with a game in hand, but, they will still be in the bottom three.
Accra Lions, have six points from the seven matches they have played as they sit 15th on the table.
A win in this fixture, will take them to nine points, and they could finish the weekend in ninth position if other results this weekend, goes their way.
Both sides, will be eager for the win as they come into fixture, knowing that the heat of the campaign keeps gathering momentum as the games as being played.
