Ghanaian athletes William Amponsah, Sarah Koomson, and Aziz Mohammed had a strong start to their cross country season in the USA with West Texas A&M University.
Amponsah, won the men’s 5km race with an impressive time of 14:29.2sec, while Aziz secured second place with a time of 15:03.8sec.
On the women’s side, Sarah Koomsom triumphed in the 5k race with a time of 18:31.7sec as she dominated the competition.
The trio, have been working hard since they relocated to the USA, and their dedication are paying off.
They have began their journey in the USA on an exciting note, and they will look to build on this performance going forward.
This will be good news for Ghana athletics as the nation prepares towards hosting the Africa Games in Accra next year.
The Ghana Athletics Association (GAA), will hope to see athletes at their best form going into next year’s competition in March.
Amponsah, Koomson and Mohammed, will hope to maintain their good form to be in the Ghana contingent as the nation hosts all of Africa next year.
