Ghana defender Daniel Amartey, is out of the Black Stars FIFA World Cup qualifier against Comoros due to the injury he picked up in the win over Madagascar last Friday.
The Turkey-based player, suffered a hamstring injury in the second half of that game played at the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi, and had to be replaced by Kassim Nuhu.
The Black Stars, plays Comoros on Tuesday in Moroni, looking to get their second win in Group I after beating Madagascar 1-0 in Kumasi.
Despite undergoing MRI scans that revealed no apparent injury, Amartey’s recovery progress has been sluggish, prompting the medical team to rule him out for the crucial encounter against Comoros.
His absence marks a significant loss for the Black Stars, given his pivotal role as a starter in the initial match held in Kumasi.
Kasim Nuhu, will most likely step up as replacement for Amartey, stepping in to fill the void left by the former Leicester City player.
Coach Chris Hughton will hope his charges build on the win over Madagascar as Ghana aims to make it to a second successive Mundial and their fifth appearance in all.
