Kwame Poku’s Late Strike Sends Asante Kotoko to MTN FA Cup Semis

Asante Kotoko secured a dramatic 2-1 victory over lower-tier side True Democracy to book their place in the semi-finals of the MTN FA Cup, thanks to a late winner from Kwame Poku.
The Porcupine Warriors started strongly, taking the lead within the first ten minutes through Saaka Dauda, who capitalized on a well-worked attacking move. Despite their dominance in possession, Kotoko failed to extend their advantage, allowing True Democracy to grow into the game.
Their resilience paid off in the 63rd minute when Isaac Botchway curled home a brilliant free kick to restore parity. The underdogs looked set to push the game into extra time, but Kwame Poku had other ideas. With time running out, the striker delivered a clinical finish to seal the win for Kotoko and break True Democracy’s hearts.
Asante Kotoko will now face Berekum Chelsea in the semi-finals as they continue their quest for FA Cup glory.
