Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum Replaces Desmond Offei as Head of Coach Education, Takes Charge of Ghana U-17

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has made significant changes within its technical structure, appointing Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum as the new Head of Coach Education, replacing Desmond Offei.

Dr. Ogum, a CAF License A coach and a university lecturer, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position. He has also been named as the new head coach of Ghana’s U-17 national team (the Black Starlets), a role previously held by Offei.

The decision forms part of the GFA’s wider restructuring efforts aimed at strengthening technical development across all national teams and coaching platforms. Dr. Ogum’s dual role is expected to enhance the coordination between grassroots development and elite youth football.

He is widely respected for his previous roles with WAFA and Asante Kotoko, where he emphasized modern coaching principles and youth development. His appointment is viewed as a strategic step toward improving the quality of coaching education and the performance of Ghana’s U-17 team on the continental and global stage.

The GFA has expressed its gratitude to Desmond Offei for his service and contributions to Ghana football, particularly in youth development.

More updates to follow as Dr. Ogum begins work in his new capacity.
