Former Asante Kotoko player Samuel ‘Okocha’ Boateng is out to prove a point at MidCity FC after being released by the Porcupines.
Boateng, has joined the Ashanti regional Second Division outfit, and he is determined to prove doubters wrong about his capabilities as a football player.
He joined Asante Kotoko with high hopes of doing well at the Garden City club, but things did not work out as planned for the then promising talent who had to go out on loan last season.
At Kotoko, he showed sparkles of brilliance at times, but lack of game time, made him lose confidence at the club.
He featured for FC Samartex in the second half of last season, and Kotoko decided to take him out of their rooster before they started their pre-season preparations.
However, the talent in Boateng, has not waned, and chieftains at MidCity FC have quickly moved for him, as they prepare for the start of the new campaign.
And, the player is focused on reviving his career with his new club, and has joined joined their pre-season training.
Boateng, has received some criticisms from some sections for dropping to that level, but the player is bent on bringing his career back to light in the new season.
MidCity FC, will compete in the Ashanti regional Second Division League next season, hoping to gain promotion to the National Division One League.
