Sheriff Quaye is now ranked 14th in the latest WBO boxing world rankings, moving up from the 15th position in the Lightweight division.
According to his coach Lawrence Carl Lokko, the boxer is coming developing sturdily, and will take any opportunity that comes their way.
“We are in constant training because we don’t know when another will drop, so we keep our focus, training harder every day,” he said.
He added: “We are not rushing, and we are not in a hurry, we know when our time comes we shall make it.”
Quaye, is eying the WBO title held by American Devin Haney with other contenders being Shakur Stevenson, Vasily Lomachenko, Denys Berinchyk, Isaac Cruz, Angel Ferro, who are all ranked in the top five.
Sheriff Quaye is the WBO Africa Lightweight champion, is handled by Swavy Blu Boxing Management and sponsored by Friendly Mall, Dezone, Golden Beach Hotel and Royal Dede Hostel.
