The 11th Genser PGA Golf Tournament ended last Saturday at the Celebrity Golf Club, Sakumono with the sensational Lucky Annan Ayisah winning the day.
The Achimota Golf Club player, displayed resilience and tenacity during the competition to score 277 gross points over four days of golf at the Celebrity Golf Club at Sakumono.
He went home with a prestigious trophy, a cash prize of GH¢65,000 and a hamper.
“This victory has given me more confidence, and I am not going to rest, but will train harder to retain this blue jacket which I have won before and enjoy the feeling” he said.
This is his second success at this event after first claiming the title in 2021 at Damang in Ghana’s Western region.
There were three runners up at this year’s competition with Yaw Barry, Vincent Torgah and Augustine Menasseh, finishing tied on points whilst Francis Ekpe placed fifth.
This year’s tournament, saw golfers coming in from Zimbabwe, Zambia. Uganda. Senegal, Cote d’Ivoire and Nigeria to make it an international touch.
Senegalese Oumy Dieye won the ladies category and took home GH¢15 000 plus a hamper and a trophy.
Veteran multiple awards winner Amos Korblah won the Seniors category and took home GH¢15,000.
Director of Operations of the PGA Ghana, Ahmed Padori was impressed with the competition, and congratulated the players from other countries for taking part in this competition for the first time.
Next year’s edition, will be the 50th anniversary of the PGA in Ghana, and the organizers are planning to climax it with a special event.
