BetPawa Premier League side FC Samartex 1996, have signed defender James Sewornu on a permanent basis from Accra Hearts of Oak.
Sewornu, played for the Timber Giants on a season-long loan from Hearts of Oak last season, helping them retain their top-flight status on their debut.
“FC Samartex is delighted to announce the permanent signing of centre-back James Sewornu who previously played for us on loan from Accra Hearts of Oak last season,” the club wrote on their media channels on Thursday.
“Sewornu’s’ impressive performances have led us to secure his services on a three-year deal,” it ended.
The player, came through the ranks at the capital club, and was tauted as one of the most promising talents to emerge from his generation.
He will be expected to provide valuable cover for the defence of FC Samartex next season now that his full time status has been confirmed.
Sewornu, has teamed up with the FC Samartex squad at their pre-season training at Akropong in the Eastern region as they prepare for the 2023-24 Ghana football season.
The club will host Aduana FC in their first league game of the season next month at Samreboi.
