Ghana champions Medeama SC has secured a $300,000 sponsorship package from Nguvu Mining as they become the new headline sponsor for the club.
The mining firm, will have their name and logo on the front of Medeama SC’s jerseys during the period of this sponsorship.
This was announced at a media event in Accra on Friday, to unveil the package ahead of the next game of Medeama SC to be played on Saturday.
Medeama SC will face Bechem United in a betPawa Premier League Matchday Four encounter against Bechem United, and the Yellow and Mauves, are expected to wear the Nguvu logo on their jerseys at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park, Bechem.
The club will also use this logo for their campaign in the group phase of the CAF Champions League competition which begins next month.
The Ghanaian champions, are poised to make a strong impact in the competition according to chieftains at the Tarkwa-based side.
The draw for the competition was made on Friday, and Medeama SC will face opposition from Algeria, Egypt and Tanzania at the group phase.
This, seems a tough draw for the Ghanaian champions, but chieftains at the club are confident of making a strong impact on their debut campaign in the competition.
“We are entering the competition not to be just participants, but to make an impact,” MP for Tarkwa George Duker said at the event.
He applauded Nguvu Mining for agreeing to come of board as the club’s new main sponsors, and called for more help from corporate Ghana as they look to mount an assault on the CAF Champions League.
Board chairman of Medeama SC Dr Tony Aubynn said, the club will look to make the most of this bargain, to make Nguvu Mining proud during the duration of this sponsorship package.
