Bismark Kobby Explains Why He Chose to Join C.K. Akonnor at Gor Mahia
Gor Mahia assistant coach, Bismark Kobby, has revealed why he decided to join head coach C.K. Akonnor in Kenya despite receiving another lucrative offer.
Speaking in an interview with Skyy Power 93.5 FM, Kobby disclosed that just two weeks before Akonnor’s appointment at Gor Mahia, he had been contacted by Malian giants Stade Malien, who wanted him as their head coach.
“By the grace of God, we’re in Kenya and it is through C.K. Akonnor that I’m here,” Kobby said. “Unfortunately, two weeks before C.K’s appointment at Gor Mahia, I also got an offer from Stade Malien. They wanted me as head coach. A few days after that offer, C.K also called regarding their plans.”
According to him, the decision was a tough one, but after careful consideration he opted to work with Akonnor.
“It was very difficult for me to take a decision. But after doing background checks, I realized that coming with him would be the better choice. C.K has coached the Black Stars and other top teams, and I believe working with him will help my development,” he explained.
