Breaking News: C.K Akonnor Appointed Head Coach of Gor Mahia
Kenya Premier League giants Gor Mahia have confirmed the appointment of Charles Kwablan (C.K) Akonnor as their new head coach ahead of the 2025/26 season.
The former Ghana national team boss brings a wealth of experience to the club, having previously coached top Ghanaian sides including Asante Kotoko, Dreams FC, and Hearts of Oak. Akonnor also led the Black Stars as head coach between 2020 and 2021.
Joining him on the technical bench is Bismark Kobi Mensah, who will serve as the club’s assistant coach. Kobi Mensah is best known for his time with Ghana Premier League sides Karela United and Great Olympics, where he earned praise for his tactical discipline and player development.
Gor Mahia are banking on the Ghanaian duo to steer the club back to continental prominence and defend their domestic crown. The pair are expected to lead the team into preseason preparations next week.
The club released an official statement welcoming both coaches and expressing confidence in their leadership to bring success to the team.
