Confederation Cup Draw: Kotoko Paired with Kwara United

Asante Kotoko Sporting Club have been drawn against Nigerian side Kwara United FC in the first preliminary round of the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup.

The Porcupine Warriors will begin their continental journey with a two-legged tie against the Afonja Warriors, as both sides battle for a spot in the next stage of Africa’s second-tier club competition.

The first leg will be hosted by Kwara United in Ilorin, Nigeria, before the return leg takes place in Kumasi, Ghana. Dates and kick-off times will be confirmed by CAF in the coming days.

The stakes are high for Kotoko, as the winner of this clash will face Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club (WAC) in the second preliminary round — a tough hurdle for any side eyeing the group stage.
