FC Metz Reaches Agreement to Sign Ghanaian Defender Terry Yegbe from IF Elfsborg

French Ligue 1 outfit FC Metz has reached an agreement with Swedish Allsvenskan side IF Elfsborg to secure the signature of Ghanaian defender Terry Yegbe in a deal worth €4 million.

Yegbe, who has been a standout performer in the Swedish top flight, will join Metz on a long-term contract that runs until June 2030. His commanding presence at the back and ability to read the game made him one of Elfsborg’s most reliable defenders, attracting strong interest from clubs across Europe before Metz won the race for his services.

The Ghanaian’s arrival is expected to bolster Metz’s defensive options as they aim to strengthen their squad for both domestic and European competitions. At just 23, Yegbe is regarded as a player with immense potential and a bright future, and the six-year contract underlines Metz’s confidence in his long-term contribution to the team.

Yegbe’s move also adds to the growing list of Ghanaian players making their mark in Europe, further highlighting the country’s reputation as a hub of football talent.
