Update on the January Transfer Window

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially announced the opening dates for the January Transfer Window for the 2025/2026 football season.

According to a circular issued and signed by GFA General Secretary, Prosper Harrison Addo Esq., the second transfer and registration window will open on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at 00:01 GMT, and close on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 23:59 GMT.

The window will apply to all Premier League clubs, Division One League clubs, Women’s Premier League clubs, and Regional Football Association clubs. Both domestic and international transfers will be permitted within the period.

Clubs have been reminded to process all player registrations and transfers strictly through the ITMS/DTMS platforms before the deadline. The GFA further cautioned that clubs failing to meet the minimum requirement of 20 approved players risk being deactivated.

The January window offers clubs a vital opportunity to strengthen their squads or make necessary adjustments as the 2025/2026 season continues toward its conclusion in May 2026.

All stakeholders are expected to take note and fully comply with the guidelines.
