Nsuopun Fidelity FC Presents Regional Trophy to Wassa Amenfi Paramount Chief and Pitch Assurance

The leadership of Nsuopun Fidelity FC, led by club president Nana Kofi Boateng, paid a courtesy call on the Paramount Chief of Wassa Amenfi Traditional Area, Tetrete Okuamoah Sekyim II, to present the 2025 Western Regional Football Association trophy they won after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Takoradi-based Bis Paradise SC at the Tarkwa TNA Stadium.

The visit was marked by celebrations and appreciation, as Tetrete Okuamoah Sekyim II and his traditional council warmly congratulated the team on their historic triumph. He urged the players to remain disciplined, respectful, and dedicated to their profession, encouraging them to aspire to become global football stars like Lionel Messi, Michael Essien, and Cristiano Ronaldo.

In recognition of the team’s exceptional achievement—being the first club from the Amenfi East Municipality to qualify for Division One—Tetrete rewarded the team with GH¢20,000. He admitted he was unaware that such a strong team like Nsuopun Fidelity FC existed in Wasa Nsuopun, a revelation that left him pleasantly surprised.

President Nana Kofi Boateng expressed gratitude to the Paramount Chief and his elders for their warm reception, generous donation, and wise counsel. He, however, used the opportunity to highlight the club’s most pressing challenge ahead of the 2025/26 Access Bank Division One League season—lack of a standard home pitch.

In response, Tetrete Okuamoah Sekyim II directed the club to consult with the Chief of Wasa Asikuma, Nana Baffour Kwame Annim II, to help find a lasting solution to the issue.

The chief and his elders were further impressed to learn that Nsuopun Fidelity FC’s first-choice goalkeeper, Patrick Arthur, was part of Ghana’s U-20 squad that reached the quarter-finals of the AFCON in Egypt. Arthur and two other players from the club are currently training with the Ghana Black Satellites team ahead of the WAFU tournament.

This historic visit symbolizes a new chapter for football in the Amenfi East Municipality and highlights the unifying power of sports in traditional leadership and community development.

God bless you, Wassa Amenfi Wura!
