OFFICIAL: Michael Kyei Dwamena Leaves Asante Kotoko After Contract Expiry

Asante Kotoko have officially parted ways with midfielder Michael Kyei Dwamena following the expiration of his contract with the club.

The 23-year-old, who joined the Porcupine Warriors in 2023, spent two seasons in Kumasi and played a supporting role in the club’s domestic campaign during that period. Dwamena’s stint at Kotoko was highlighted by a notable achievement — helping the team secure the MTN FA Cup title during the 2023/24 season.

Though not always a regular starter, Dwamena provided depth in midfield and contributed when called upon. His calm presence and passing range were assets to the team, especially in cup competitions.

Club insiders have confirmed that both parties agreed not to extend the contract, paving the way for the player to seek new opportunities elsewhere.

As Kotoko begins a new rebuilding phase ahead of the 2025/26 season, Dwamena departs with a trophy to his name and valuable experience gained at one of Ghana’s biggest clubs.

The midfielder is now a free agent and is expected to attract interest from clubs both locally and abroad.
