Tarkwa United Protest Fijai Academy's Use of Unqualified Player in Super Middle League Clash
Tarkwa, Ghana – Tensions have risen in the ongoing Western Regional Football Association Super Middle League in Tarkwa, as Tarkwa United have officially lodged a protest against Fijai Academy following their penalty shootout defeat.
The match ended goalless in regulation time, with Fijai Academy eventually triumphing on penalties. However, Tarkwa United allege that Fijai Academy fielded an unqualified player, Samuel Appiah, who wore jersey number 11.
According to Tarkwa United, Samuel Appiah is not a registered player on Fijai Academy’s FIFA Connect account, which, if confirmed, would constitute a breach of player eligibility rules.
The WRFA is expected to investigate the matter and make a ruling in accordance with GFA regulations.
More updates to follow as the story develops.
