EXCLUSIVE: Bibiani Gold Stars Set to Appoint Prosper Ogum as New Head Coach
Bibiani Gold Stars are set to announce Prosper Narteh Ogum as their new head coach ahead of the upcoming Ghana Premier League season.
The former Asante Kotoko and West African Football Academy (WAFA) boss is expected to take charge of the Miners after the ongoing WAFU B U-17 tournament in Côte d'Ivoire, where he is currently serving as part of the national team’s technical setup.
Gold Stars have been in search of a new head coach following the departure of their previous manager, and talks with Ogum have progressed smoothly in recent weeks. The club sees the experienced tactician as the ideal figure to guide them to a stronger campaign and push for a top-half finish this season.
Prosper Ogum is widely regarded as one of the most tactically astute coaches in Ghana, having led Asante Kotoko to the Ghana Premier League title in the 2021/22 season. His philosophy of attacking football and youth development is expected to align well with Gold Stars’ ambitions going forward.
An official announcement from the club is expected once Ogum concludes his national team duties in Côte d'Ivoire.
