EXCLUSIVE: Maxwell Konadu Turns Down Bibiani Gold Stars Coaching Offer

Former Asante Kotoko and Legon Cities head coach Maxwell Konadu has declined an offer to become the new head coach of Bibiani Gold Stars SC, despite advanced negotiations between both parties.

Talks were believed to be at an advanced stage, with Gold Stars hopeful of securing the experienced tactician to lead the team following the sacking of Frimpong Manso. However, Konadu made a late U-turn after further consultations with his close associates and advisors.

The 51-year-old was seen as the ideal candidate to guide the Miners back to form after a disappointing start to the season, which included a 2-0 home defeat to JS Kabylie in the CAF Champions League.

Maxwell Konadu, who boasts a wealth of experience in the Ghana Premier League and on the national team bench, remains a highly sought-after coach. His decision leaves Bibiani Gold Stars still searching for a new head coach as they prepare for their upcoming league fixtures.

The club is expected to announce a new shortlist of candidates in the coming days as they look to quickly fill the vacant managerial position.
