EXCLUSIVE: Two GPL Clubs Contact Free Agent Eric Ofori Antwi for Possible Deal

Experienced Ghanaian goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi is currently the subject of transfer interest from two Ghana Premier League (GPL) sides — Baseke Holy Stars and Berekum Chelsea FC, sources have confirmed.

The 29-year-old shot-stopper, who is a free agent following the expiration of his previous contract, has drawn attention with his wealth of experience and consistent performances in the domestic top flight.

Baseke Holy Stars, newly promoted to the GPL, are actively reinforcing their squad ahead of the 2025/26 season and see Ofori Antwi as a vital addition to bolster their goalkeeping department. Berekum Chelsea, meanwhile, are seeking to add competition and leadership in their goalpost and view the former Medeama and Asante Kotoko goalkeeper as a perfect fit.

Discussions are said to be at an early stage, but both clubs have made initial contact with the player’s representatives. A deal could be finalized in the coming weeks should negotiations progress positively.

Ofori Antwi, a former Ghana U20 international, brings a wealth of top-level experience and is regarded as a steady pair of hands between the sticks. His next move will be crucial as he looks to revive his career and return to the spotlight in Ghanaian football.
