F.C. Samartex 1996 Appoint Eric Bekoe as Strikers’ Coach and Youth Team Head Coach

Ghana Premier League side F.C. Samartex 1996 have confirmed the appointment of former Black Stars forward Eric Kwabena Bekoe as the club’s first team strikers’ coach. The ex-Asante Kotoko and Petrojet striker will also double as the head coach of the club’s youth team, as part of Samartex’s broader strategy to strengthen their technical setup and develop young talent.

Bekoe, who is widely regarded as one of the most clinical finishers in the Ghana Premier League era, brings a wealth of experience to the Timber Giants. He famously won the league’s top scorer award in the 2007/08 season with Kotoko and enjoyed a successful career abroad, including a prolific spell in the Egyptian Premier League.

His appointment is seen as a major boost for the club’s ambitions both at senior and developmental levels. As strikers’ coach, Bekoe will be tasked with sharpening the attacking efficiency of the first team as they aim to maintain their strong form in the Ghana Premier League.

At the youth level, his role will focus on nurturing young talents and creating a clear pathway for academy graduates into the senior side — a move that aligns with Samartex’s long-term vision of building a sustainable, talent-driven football project.
