At the Ghana Football Association’s 31st Ordinary Congress, GFA President Kurt Okraku announced a significant financial boost for the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.

The league champions will pocket a record cash prize of GHC 2 million, marking a major increase in rewards for top-flight football in the country. In addition, clubs finishing from 1st to 15th place will benefit from merit-based cash prizes amounting to nearly GHC 10 million in total.

The new prize structure is aimed at motivating clubs to maintain competitive standards throughout the season and improve the overall quality of the league.

President Okraku emphasized the GFA’s commitment to enhancing the financial viability of Ghanaian clubs and ensuring that the league remains attractive for both players and supporters.
