Ghana Embassy in USA Pledges Full Support Ahead of 2026 World Cup
Ghana’s Ambassador to the United States, Victor Emmanuel Smith, has pledged the Embassy’s full support to ensure the country’s participation in the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup is memorable and successful.
Ambassador Smith made the assurance when the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, paid a courtesy call on him in the United States. The visit formed part of ongoing engagements to discuss Ghana’s placement for the World Cup and the necessary preparations ahead of the global tournament.
During the meeting, the Ambassador reaffirmed the Embassy’s commitment to working closely with the GFA to facilitate smooth logistics, strong diplomatic backing, and effective engagement with the Ghanaian community in the United States. He emphasized the importance of collaboration in projecting a positive image of Ghana on the world stage as the Black Stars prepare for the tournament.
For his part, Kurt Okraku expressed gratitude to the Ambassador and the Embassy for their readiness to support the GFA, noting that such cooperation would be crucial in ensuring Ghana’s participation goes beyond the pitch to create lasting memories for players, officials, and fans alike.
