Sports Minister, Regional Minister & Asante Kotoko Management Meet Otumfuo Over Football Matters and Fan Safety
The Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Simon Osei-Mensah, together with the Minister for Sports & Recreation, Hon. Kofi Adams, and officials from the Asante Kotoko Secretariat, paid a courtesy visit to His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace.
The discussions primarily focused on the tragic passing of Nana Yaw Frimpong, popularly known as Pooley, a devoted supporter of Asante Kotoko. The delegation assured Otumfuo of their commitment to ensuring justice for Pooley and enhancing security at stadiums to prevent similar incidents in the future.
Beyond this, the meeting also touched on the performance of the Black Stars and the broader future of Ghanaian football. Otumfuo, a well-known football enthusiast, shared his vision for strengthening the national team and improving sports administration in the country.
The leadership reaffirmed their dedication to making stadiums safer, revitalizing domestic leagues, and restoring Ghana’s national football team to its former glory.
