WRFA Disciplinary Committee Sanctions Insha Allahu FC for Fielding Unqualified Players in Middle League Clash
Sekondi, May 19, 2025 – The Disciplinary Committee of the Western Regional Football Association (WRFA) has ruled in favour of Nsuopun Fidelity FC in a protest case against Insha Allahu FC for fielding unqualified players during their Second Division Middle League match held at TNA Park on May 18, 2025.
The protest, filed by Nsuopun Fidelity FC on the same day as the match, alleged that Insha Allahu FC fielded multiple unregistered players and used fake player ID cards. Despite being served notice, Insha Allahu FC failed to respond with a statement of defence as required under Article 35(8)(a) of the WRFA League Regulations, 2021.
Upon examining the referee’s report, match commissioner’s report, FIFA Connect System records, team sheets, and player registration cards, the Committee found that seven players—Adjei Manaseh, Addae Collins, Kyeremeh Nelson, Atimba Gabriel, Agyapong Mawuli Eric, Owusu Felix, and Kubbina Justice—were not registered with Insha Allahu FC and were therefore unqualified to participate in the match.
Although Nsuopun Fidelity FC also claimed several other players used fake ID cards, the Committee ruled that this could not be substantiated.
Citing Article 33(1)(e) of the Regulations, the Committee declared Insha Allahu FC guilty of fielding unqualified players and imposed the following sanctions:
1. Forfeiture of the match to Nsuopun Fidelity FC.
2. Award of three (3) points and three (3) goals to Nsuopun Fidelity FC.
3. Deduction of three (3) points from Insha Allahu FC’s accumulated league points.
4. A fine of GH¢3,000 to be paid by Insha Allahu FC, with 50% going to Nsuopun Fidelity FC. The fine must be paid within 14 days.
5. Right of appeal must be exercised within one day of notification as stipulated under Article 35(10).
The ruling was delivered by a three-member panel chaired by Constantine K. M. Kudzedzi Esq., with Peter Kojo Baidoo Esq. as Vice Chairman and Joseph Eddeh as Member.
