The Western Regional Football Association (WRFA) Disciplinary Committee has dismissed a protest lodged by Tarkwa United FC against Fijai Soccer Academy over the alleged use of an unqualified player during their Division Two League match on May 18, 2025, at the TNA Park.
In its protest, Tarkwa United FC claimed that Samuel Appiah (No.11) of Fijai Soccer Academy was not duly registered at the time of the match. The club submitted photos and a team sheet to support its case.
Upon review, the Disciplinary Committee, chaired by Constantine K. M. Kudzedzi Esq., examined evidence from both parties, including the player’s registration records from the Ghana Football Connect System, and confirmed that Samuel Appiah was duly registered on January 4, 2025, making him eligible to feature in the match.
The committee found no merit in Tarkwa United’s claim and ruled that the protest was frivolous. As a result, the original result of the match will stand, and Tarkwa United FC has been fined GH¢1,000, payable within 14 days.
The ruling was delivered on May 21, 2025, at the WRFA office in Sekondi. Clubs dissatisfied with the outcome have up to one day to file an appeal, in accordance with Article 35(10) of the Regional FA League Regulations.
