BIG BLOW: Asante Kotoko Midfielder Ntim Manu Suffers ACL Injury, Faces Lengthy Spell on the Sidelines
Asante Kotoko have been dealt a major injury blow following news that midfielder Ntim Manu has sustained an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury.
The unfortunate incident occurred during the MTN FA Cup clash against lower-tier side Golden Kicks. Manu was forced off the pitch after an awkward landing and subsequent medical examinations have confirmed the worst — a torn ACL.
The injury is expected to sideline the hardworking midfielder for between six to eight months, effectively ruling him out for the remainder of the current season and potentially part of the next campaign.
This development comes as a huge setback for the Porcupine Warriors, who have been counting on Ntim Manu’s energy and versatility in the middle of the park. His absence will no doubt leave a gap in coach Prosper Narteh Ogum’s setup as the team pushes to compete in both domestic and continental competitions.
Asante Kotoko are yet to issue an official statement, but sources within the club confirm that the player will soon undergo surgery, followed by an intensive rehabilitation programme.
Everyone at the club — and the wider Ghanaian football community — will be wishing Ntim Manu a successful recovery.
