Bologna Recall Ibrahim Sulemana from Black Stars Camp After Knee Injury
Bologna FC 1909 have officially recalled Ghanaian midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana from the Black Stars camp after he sustained a knee injury while on international duty.
Sulemana picked up the setback during Ghana’s FIFA World Cup qualifier against Chad in N’Djamena, forcing him to cut short his stay with the national team. After initial medical checks by the Black Stars’ medical staff, it was agreed that the player should return to Italy for further evaluation and treatment.
The 21-year-old, who has been gradually working his way into Bologna’s setup in Serie A, was expected to play a key role in Ghana’s fixtures this month. However, his injury means he will be unavailable for the upcoming clash against Mali in Accra.
Bologna will now oversee his recovery process and determine the extent of the damage, with both club and country hoping the midfielder will not be sidelined for long.
Sulemana’s absence is a blow to Coach Otto Addo’s plans as he looks to guide the Black Stars through the World Cup qualifiers, while Bologna will also be concerned about losi6ng one of their promising young talents early in the new season.
