Confirmed: Abdul Karim Zito Appointed Asante Kotoko Head Coach on Two-Year Deal

Asante Kotoko Sporting Club have officially announced the appointment of Abdul Karim Zito as their new head coach on a two-year contract.

The experienced Ghanaian trainer replaces interim arrangements at the club as part of a major technical restructuring ahead of the 2025/26 football season.

Karim Zito, who is widely respected for his work with Ghana’s national youth teams and clubs such as Dreams FC and Medeama SC, is expected to bring stability and direction to the Porcupine Warriors following a disappointing previous campaign.

Club sources confirm that Zito’s contract spans two years, during which he is tasked with returning Kotoko to the summit of Ghana football, both domestically and on the continental stage. He is also expected to play a key role in youth development and integrate talent from the club's academy system.

Zito's appointment comes at a crucial time as the team prepares for the Toyota Cup match against Kaizer Chiefs in South Africa later this month. His first test in charge could serve as a glimpse into his tactical philosophy and the direction he intends to take the team.

The club is expected to unveil his full technical team in the coming days.

Asante Kotoko faithful will be hoping that Zito’s leadership marks the beginning of a successful new era.
