MATCH REPORT: Kotoko Crush Dreams 4-1 in Kumasi: Poku Bags Brace, Bassey Scores on Debut - GHANA PREMIER LEAGUE
Asante Kotoko put on a clinical display in Kumasi as they defeated Dreams FC 4-1 in an entertaining Ghana Premier League encounter.
The home side took the lead through Albert Amoah, who finished off a swift attacking move to set Kotoko on their way. The Porcupine Warriors doubled their advantage before the break with Kwame Poku getting on the scoresheet.
Dreams FC fought back in the second half and were rewarded when Jonathan Nemorden pulled one back to make it 2-1, briefly raising hopes of a comeback.
However, those hopes were quickly dashed as Kwame Poku struck again to restore Kotoko’s two-goal cushion with his second goal of the game.
The night belonged to Kotoko debutant Fernando Bassey, who came off the bench to score his first goal for the club, sealing a 4-1 victory and putting the icing on the cake of a dominant performance.
The win lifts Kotoko’s spirits and strengthens their position on the league table, while Dreams FC are left to regroup ahead of their next fixture.
