Minister for Sports Kofi Adams to Address Press on World Cup Qualifiers Budget

The Minister for Youth and Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Adams, will hold a press briefing today at 16:00 GMT to present details of the government’s budget and preparations for Ghana’s upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches.

The Black Stars will return to action this month with two crucial fixtures:

September 4: Chad vs Ghana (Away)

September 8: Ghana vs Mali (Home, Accra Sports Stadium)

The announcement comes as the Ministry seeks to ensure smooth logistical, financial, and technical arrangements for the national team ahead of the qualifiers.

Ghana, a four-time African champion, is pushing for a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The press engagement is expected to highlight travel plans, player welfare, and overall budget allocation for the qualifiers as the Black Stars aim to strengthen their chances in the qualification race.
