Seidu and Issahaku Return to Black Stars Squad for 2026 World Cup Qualifiers
Ghanaian duo Alidu Seidu and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku have been handed recalls to the Black Stars squad ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against the Central African Republic and Comoros, marking their return from long injury layoffs.
Both players had been sidelined for several months with anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries that kept them out of international duty. Seidu, who features for Rennes in the French Ligue 1, has regained full fitness and established himself as a consistent performer since the start of the season.
Issahaku, meanwhile, has hit top form with Leicester City in the English Championship. The 21-year-old winger has already scored twice and provided an assist this season, highlighting his creativity and attacking threat. His return adds much-needed depth and dynamism to Ghana’s frontline.
The pair’s inclusion strengthens Otto Addo’s squad ahead of the crucial double-header. With Ghana leading Group I, the Black Stars require just four points from the two fixtures to secure qualification for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Their comeback is expected to provide a major boost to the team’s campaign.
