Hearts of Oak Submit Improved Offer for Asante Kotoko Target
Accra Hearts of Oak have stepped up their pursuit of highly-rated midfielder Walid Fuseini by submitting an improved offer to hijack his proposed move to arch-rivals Asante Kotoko.
Fuseini, who previously played for Nsoatreman FC, was expected to finalize his transfer to Asante Kotoko today. However, that meeting has now been called off, with insider sources confirming to Total Sports Ghana that the deal has stalled. According to close confidant Mo, the meeting “is not happening again,” casting doubt over the midfielder's move to Kumasi.
With Kotoko’s deal hanging in the balance, Hearts of Oak have quickly swooped in and are now in advanced talks with the player. The Phobians are set to meet Fuseini this week in a bid to wrap up the signing and bolster their midfield ahead of the new season.
The latest twist adds another layer to the intense rivalry between the two Ghanaian giants as they battle off the pitch for one of the league’s promising talents.
