Public Relations Coordination Division Evaluates PR Unit at Ministry of Sports and Recreation
The Public Relations Coordination Division (PRCD) of the Information Services Department has commenced a monitoring exercise to assess the performance of the Public Relations (PR) Unit at the Ministry of Sports and Recreation. This activity forms part of the Division’s annual program to evaluate the efficiency, professionalism, and impact of Government Public Relations Officers (PROs) across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
Led by Rev. Charlotte Hanson, a delegation from the PRCD met with officials of the Ministry, including the Chief Director, the Director of Human Resources, and the Director of Finance and Administration, to conduct the assessment through discussions and evaluations.
During the engagement, the Chief Director, Mrs. Wilhelmina Asamoah, commended the PR Unit for its proactive approach and professionalism in executing its mandate.
“The PROs have exhibited commendable dedication, responsiveness, and professionalism in promoting and protecting the image of the Ministry,” Mrs. Asamoah noted. She, however, encouraged the team to strive for continuous improvement to maintain high standards of communication and public engagement.
Mrs. Asamoah also reaffirmed management’s commitment to supporting the PR Unit to ensure sustained excellence and effective information dissemination.
In her remarks, Rev. Hanson expressed appreciation to the Ministry for providing an enabling environment for the PR Unit to operate efficiently. She assured that the PRCD would continue to strengthen monitoring and capacity-building efforts to enhance PR performance across government institutions.
This exercise highlights the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to effective communication, transparency, and the pursuit of excellence in public relations practice within the public sector.
