Sports Minister Boosts Morale of Black Queens Ahead of WAFCON Semi-Final Clash
Rabat, 22 July 2025 – Hon. Kofi Iddie Adams, Minister for Sports and Recreation, paid a morale-boosting visit to the Black Queens this morning as Ghana prepares to face off in a crucial Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) semi-final later tonight.
Addressing the team, the Minister commended the players for their remarkable performance in the tournament, especially in silencing early critics and guiding Ghana to its first WAFCON semi-final since 2016. He urged them to "play as if you are at home," reminding the squad that the entire nation stands firmly behind them and is immensely proud of their progress.
Hon. Adams was accompanied by senior Ministry officials, executives from the Ghana Football Association, Ghana’s Ambassador to Morocco, and staff from the Ghanaian Embassy in Rabat. Their collective message focused on unity, determination, and the need to maintain focus through the final stages of the competition.
The Minister assured the team that all logistical and welfare needs have been fully addressed, ensuring the players can concentrate solely on their performance.
With overwhelming national support and strong institutional backing, the Black Queens are poised to make history as they take to the pitch tonight in search of a coveted spot in the WAFCON final.
